Talent Driven Strategy was founded in 2015 with a simple goal: Make business work better by improving the connections between talent, strategy, and operations. Drawing upon expertise and experience across the domains of strategic planning, change management, organizational development, and operations management, TDS brings a unique understanding of how these roles interact to create performance. Our people personify this improvement philosophy and unique expertise.

Our Founder: Matthew J. Ferguson

Bringing over ten years of focused management and advisory experience across the fields of strategy, organizational development, and project management, Matt brings a unique set of perspectives and experiences to the firm. His functional experience spans sales and business development, product development and management, and project portfolio management/operations. His global advisory experience in the fields of Strategic Execution and Organizational Development have taken place across the Americas, China, India, and Europe. His Clients have spanned multiple sectors, including EPC/M, Oil and Gas, Information Technology, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, and Consumer Products.

 

Prior to founding TDS, Matt served in a General Management role with one of the world's leading corporate education providers. In this role, he led the turnaround of their professional services unit through the implementation of many of the ideas that now serve as the bedrock of the TDS offering. After delivering 400% revenue growth, a lift in gross margin from 35% to 55%, and a new go-to-market strategy built on the concept of delivering business impact through competency development, Matt decided it was time to take make performance through alignment his full-time focus.

 

A believer in life-long learning, he combines several academic accomplishments with those achieved in industry: He holds a B.A. in Psychology from West Virginia University, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University, and an Executive MBA from the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI ® and a Certified Scrum Master via the Scrum Alliance. He resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area with his wife, young son and daughter, and two very spoiled house cats.

We believe that the difference between a valued partner and an overpriced consultant is empathy and the possession of current, real-world insights. For this reason, TDS leverages a network of current practitioners, professionals, and "on the ground" change agents to staff our engagements. We call these professionals our Adjuncts. Much in the way an adjunct professor adds a unique value to the University experience, our Adjunct Principals bring a real-time perspective to the decisions they support.
